- You can’t remember the last time you felt that little thrill of ‘oh I really love that’ when you make a mark or add a colour?
- You’ve finally found the time to be in the studio, but nothing you do is exciting you?
- You’re starting to wonder if you just need to buckle down and learn to draw and paint ‘better’?
- You want to recapture that feeling of play with no pressure of outcome, that you had in the beginning?
- You love the marks and textures of prints but have no idea how to make them?
Let me show you there’s another way – mark-making is one of the cornerstones of your art practice, and you’ve probably been neglecting it. Instead of always wanting the perfect outcome why not give yourself permission to play for a while? Instead of only making art to produce ‘art work’, why not just have some downright creative fun?
Imagine…
- The addictive thrill of peeling back paper from your surface, to find marks and textures you love.
- Discovering your own ‘artistic handwriting’ through open hearted experimentation.
- Looking around your studio and suddenly seeing it with new eyes – so many things to play with!
- Understanding that there’s a way into printmaking from your own home, no press required.
In this short course we will be exploring printing by hand without a printing press. This creates monoprints: one-off painterly prints with stunning texture and marks. This way of printing is accessible to all and needs very little specialist equipment or space. This course has been developed from the live event in February 2026 and so has pre-recorded video elements and ‘live’ handprinting sessions.
This self paced video course with lifetime access costs £20.

You’ll come out from this short shake-up of your practice with…
- Sooo many ways to make marks that you never even imagined
- A process to turn to when you’re not sure what your work needs
- An open-ness to using the tools and materials you already have in new ways
- Tons of collage fodder!
- A way to discover (and keep discovering) your ‘artistic handwriting’
- A simple way in to printmaking at home
