North Somerset Arts Week is almost upon us! 3rd-12th May.
If you love finding hidden gems in lovely places then take a day, a weekend or the whole week to tour North Somerset in search of great art. I’ll be exhibiting with friend and fellow Estuary artist Ian Price at his house, 12 Glenwood Rise, in Portishead (drive along Nore Road, until you see it on the right). In addition to seeing mine and Ian’s new work, cake and refreshments, you can also wend your way down to Black Nore Lighthouse at the end of the garden. There’ll be volunteers there to tell you about the history of the Portishead landmark, and the opportunity to become a member of Black Nore Lighthouse Trust, which allows visits to the top of the Lighthouse itself. Our venue will be open 4th, 5th and 6th of May and 11th and 12th of May, 11am-6pm.
There are 4 venues in Portishead, which allow for a leisurely walking trail between them, taking in some of the coast path.
The brochure is available at all the usual venues, and this year there is a free app available from northsomersetarts.org
I’ll also be running a drop-in ‘Sun-print’ workshop (weather permitting) on Saturday May 11th between 2 and 4pm in the garden at 12 Glenwood Rise. Collect interesting objects from the beach and make a beautiful sun ‘photograph’ with them. Small fee for materials. Adults and children welcome.
