You can see my piece ‘Barn, South Down’ at the Clifton Arts Open between 3rd and 18th August at the Undercroft, Victoria Methodist Church, 1 Whiteladies Road, Bristol alongside high quality work by the great and the good of Clifton.
Next up, I’ve created a new piece for ‘Material Flow’ at the Museum in the Park, Stroud, between the 28th August and 22nd September. This exhibition has asked artists to respond to key artefacts and paintings in the Stroud Textile Trust collection, in order to show the wide reaching effects of Stroud cloth around the world. I have created 3 cyanotypes for this exhibition, exploring the link between the dispossession of Native Peoples of North America from their lands and their payment in Stroud cloth (pictured).
The two exhibitions showing work made from the Lizard Point Group Residency that I took part in in March will be at The Museum of Cornish Life, Helston between October 5th and November 2nd and The Crypt Gallery, St John on Bethnal Green, London between 7th and 10th November (TBC). I’ve made printed hangings on tissue paper and cyanotypes celebrating the extraordinary light of the Lizard peninsula and a set of printed ‘maps’ on Japanese paper. I can’t wait to see what the other artists have made.
